If the summer sun is only making a occasional appearance, you can still enjoy a taste of summer at Selfridges with UK’s first gelato afternoon tea. The Afternoon Tea is presented on a traditional tea stand and full of ‘cool’ summer treats which include mini macaron gelato sandwiches, gelato cannolo’s, mini gelato cones enrobed with chocolate, a slice of gelato cake and sponge sandwiches.
The Afternoon Tea is served in Selfridges new Snowflake Gelato café which offers a wide range of other treats produced by the award winning Snowflake brand. Snowflake was founded in 2012 and has already won 18 Great Taste Gold Star awards for their gelato and sorbetto. Part of the secret to Snowflake’s success is using the best quality ingredients from organic Jersey milk for the gelato and the best fruit to produce the sorbets.
The Snowflake Gelato café offers a number of summer delights throughout the day from breakfast which offers American Style Pancakes, waffles and the ‘Breakfast Gelato Shake’ made with Kefir gelato and topped with granola and summer berries with optional extra protein shots to traditional cones and sundaes, LA style cookie and macaron gelato sandwiches, gourmet chocolate coated gelato stix, sorbetto lollies and chocolate dipped ice-cream cookies.
If you are a vegan, Snowflake will also be offering a range of vegan gelato shakes including: Coconut & Chocolate, Banoffee and Brownie, Caramel & Peanut. Available exclusively at Selfridges.
If you cannot find a flavour that excites you, why not create your own ? Snowflake offers a bespoke flavour service where customers can request their own unique flavour that will be made within 24hours. Snowflake also offer bespoke Gelato cakes which can be ordered with three days notice.
