The annual celebration of London’s Theatreland takes place in one of the capital’s iconic spaces.

Trafalgar Square is in the heart of Theatreland, close to many West End theatres. West End LIVE is an extremely popular event with an estimated 400,000 visitors in 2023.

Need to Know Information

West End LIVE is a free event and you do not need a ticket. Entry is on a first come, first served basis. West End LIVE is a popular event, and you will need to queue. Each day a long queue forms for entry to the event. Entry is on a first come, first served basis.

Once you are in Trafalgar Square, there is no re-entry without queueing. There is no shade in the queue so wear a hat if it’s hot or bring an umbrella and waterproofs if rain is forecast.

An additional viewing area will be available on Pall Mall East, just outside of the Square where the event will be shown live on a screen, providing a more relaxed environment for those who may not be comfortable in crowds. Entry to this area is via the general entrance, on the North West corner of the Square. Fold up chairs are permitted in this area only. They cannot be taken into any other part of the event.

Charing Cross, Embankment and Leicester Square are the nearest stations.

There will be one general entrance (Entrance A) to Trafalgar Square located on the north west corner of Trafalgar Square, close to the National Gallery. In 2023, the queue on the Saturday became almost a mile long and reached Holborn. Sunday is quieter. Take your own food and soft drink. Alcohol is not permitted. Although Pimms, water, coffee and ice cream will be available to buy at the event.

Saturday 22 June, 11am – 5pm

Sunday 23 June, 12 midday – 5pm

Gates will open at approximately 10.15am on Saturday and 11.15am on Sunday.

Once capacity has been reached, entry will be on a one out, one in basis.
