Review : The London Bike Show 2018 at ExCeL London from 23rd to 25th February 2018

Cycling in its many forms is one of the fastest growing participation sports in the United Kingdom, therefore it was not surprising that the crowds made their way to Excel London for the opening of The London Bike Show 2018. Opening the show was the ever popular British multi Gold medal Olympian, Sir Chris Hoy.

As the visitors entered the show, they were spoilt for choice with a vast array of features, special guests and the latest gear from leading cycling brands to appeal to road, mountain bike, urban and family cyclists. 

Over 300 top brands are attending the show, including Boardman Bikes, Orange Bikes, Cannondale, Cervelo, Wattbike, Science in Sport and many more of cycling’s biggest brand names.

The Performance Theatre over the weekend will be packed full of special guest speakers from across the world of cycling. From your favourite cyclists and athletes, to coaches and others involved at the highest level. Speakers include Sir Chris Hoy, Chrissie Wellington and British Cycling’s Tom Pidcock.

One of the highlights of the show is The UK’s biggest freeride mountain bike competition, Air to the Throne. This year’s competition has been awarded Gold FMB World Tour status.The world’s best riders, including British Number One Matt Jones and two-time Air to the Throne winner and World Number One, Nicholi Rogatkin,.

As well as the hundreds of brands and loads of things to see, visitors are able to get in the saddle at the Show. There will be a wide range of bikes from the world’s leading brands available for visitors to test in the Bike Arena, with road, commuter and electric models being available.

Street Velodrome returns again and gives visitors the chance to get involved in the action-packed thrill of track cycling, in the world’s only pop up velodrome. Suitable for all ages and abilities, family and friends can go head to head.

The London Bike Show is one of London’s most popular shows with a wide range of events and attractions. If you are a serious cyclist or beginner, every aspect of cycling is covered and the show provides plenty of entertainment for all the family. A ticket to the London Bike Show also allows visitors entry to the Triathlon Show: London and The Telegraph Travel Show.

The London Bike Show 2018 at ExCeL London from 23rd – 25th February 2018

The London Bike Show returns to Excel London and this year will be opened by British multi Gold medal Olympian, Sir Chris Hoy. The ever popular show brings together a vast array of features, special guests and the latest gear from leading cycling brands to appeal to road, mountain bike, urban and family cyclists.  

Over 300 brands will be in attendance, including Boardman Bikes, Orange Bikes, Cannondale, Cervelo, Wattbike, Science in Sport and many more of cycling’s biggest brand names, as well as several large cycling retailers.

The Performance Theatre will once again be packed full of special guest speakers from across the world of cycling. From your favourite cyclists and athletes, to coaches and others involved at the highest level. Speakers include Sir Chris Hoy, Chrissie Wellington and British Cycling’s new protégé Tom Pidcock. Sir Chris will be meeting and greeting fans on the Science in Sport stand on Friday 23, as well as speaking at the show again this year.

The UK’s biggest freeride mountain bike competition, Air to the Throne will also be returning in 2018. This year’s competition has been awarded Gold FMB World Tour status, meaning this will be the first time the UK has hosted a competition at this level. The planet’s best riders, including British Number One Matt Jones and two-time Air to the Throne winner and World Number One, Nicholi Rogatkin, will be lining up against their biggest rivals best aiming to take home the stunning Air to the Throne trophy, a share of the €15,000 prize purse and FMB World Tour points.

The Craft area is an exciting new edition to the show. This will be a showcase and celebration of brands representing the uniqueness, craftsmanship and culture of cycling through bikes, apparel, accessories and art.

Also back for 2018 is the Tech & Innovation Lab, showcasing the most innovative new products from a range of startup companies.

As well as the hundreds of brands and loads of things to see, visitors will also be able to get in the saddle at the Show. There will be a wide range of bikes from the world’s leading brands available for visitors to test in the Bike Arena, with road, commuter and electric models being on hand. Alongside the main test track will be a dedicated kid’s test track, where younger visitors can try out the latest bikes on the market.

StreetVelodrome also returns again in 2018, giving visitors the chance to get involved in the action-packed thrill of track cycling, in the world’s only pop up velodrome. Suitable for all ages and abilities, family and friends can go head to head at one of London Bike Show’s most popular attractions.

A ticket to the London Bike Show will also gain visitors entry to the Triathlon Show: London and The Telegraph Travel Show. Adult tickets cost £16.00, with concession tickets at £10.00, children 8 and under are free and 9-16 year olds cost £4.00.
