knit
Southbank Centre invites you to help knit blankets for older people at Christmas.
Following the great success last year, the Get Your Knit On! project is back.

Complete beginners and experienced knitters are welcome to learn to knit squares and how to sew them together to make blankets. You will need to bring your own wool and needles – ideally double knitting wool (DK) and 4mm needles.

The Get Your Knit On! project is in partnership with Age UK Lambeth who we are working with to distribute these blankets to vulnerable older people who need help keeping warm this winter.

Alternatively, come to our Knitting Lounge in the Foyer Spaces, Royal Festival Hall where people can meet and knit together (open daily from 6 December – 11 January).

Relaxed workshops where you can get advice and learn with others take place on
Wednesday 10 December, 3pm – 5pm
Saturday 13 December, 2pm – 4pm
Friday 19 December, 2pm -4pm
Thursday 8 January, 4pm – 6pm
6 December 2014, 10:00am – 11 January 2015, 22:00pm
Be creative with your gifts this winter and explore alternative ways of giving at Southbank Centre.

Visit our pop-up charity shop in Spirit Level where you can donate to a good cause and find hidden gems amongst an array of second-hand books, clothes, accessories, CDs and DVDs. You might even want to share your well loved items by gifting them to the shop!
