London Festival of Architecture – 1st to 30th June 2015

Introduction

The London Festival of Architecture  is a series of events and activities that highlight many of current issues within and connected to architecture.
Each year the festival selects a central theme that all applicants and institutions must respond to, this year the LFA have chosen ‘Work in Progress’.
Dating back to 2004, the London Festival of Architecture started its days as the London Architecture Biennale before it became the London Festival of Architecture in 2008.

The London Festival of Architecture 2015 is  a month- long, city-wide celebration of architecture and the built environment, presenting London as a global hub of architectural practice, experimentation, teaching and debate. This  year’s festival programme offers a range of events from talks to tours, exhibitions to workshops, taking place across London throughout June.
Through the festival, people will be offered a chance to explore the changing nature of work, and workspace, but also its impact on, and role in, the evolution of London.
Several major events will take place during the festival, bringing an international dimension to the month’s activity, including the World Architecture Festival’s  UK showcase and the RIBA’s Designing City Resilience.

There will be over 200 events at various locations all over London, some of the highlights include Never Mind the Bollards – New London Architecture, Giant Dolls House Project— SHOEBOX for SHELTER Catja de Haas & Lala Thorpe (Artescape), Talk Architecture—Regeneration  and Our Voice (The People’s Salon), Exhibition –  10 Best Buildings of the  Last 10 Years (New London Architecture), Tour – Exploring Nine Elms Nine Elms on the South Bank and Debate –  Cultivating Creative Cities at the Royal Academy of Arts.
