Ed Sheeran announces extra show for The O2’s 10th Birthday in June 2017

Global superstar Ed Sheeran will be joining in The O2’s 10th Birthday celebrations with an extra show on top of his sell-out worldwide 2017 tour. Fans will get the chance to catch Ed perform at The O2 on June 22nd. He joins alt-J, Celine Dion and Jamiroquai who have already been announced as part of a series of gigs in honour of The O2’s 10th Birthday.

Ed’s third studio album ‘÷’ saw all 16 tracks instantly dominate Spotify’s Top 50 Chart in the UK, smashing the record for the highest number of streams for an album ever. Shifting an incredible 432k albums in just three days, and with an upcoming worldwide tour, Ed will be returning to The O2 after three sell out shows in May.

The O2’s 10th Birthday shows are a week-long series of unique shows giving fans a chance to come together and witness their favourite acts at one of the most iconic entertainment venues of the decade. Since its launch in 2007, The O2 has become one of the most successful, and recognisable music and entertainment venues in the world. Metallica announce two nights at The O2 in October 2017 as part of WorldWired Tour

Metallica today announced two dates at The O2 during the European leg of their WorldWired Tour, in support of their new album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. The tour stops at The O2 on the 22 and 24 October 2017. Norway’s Kvelertak will be support for the tour run.

Hardwired…To Self-Destruct was released on the 18 November, 2016 on Metallica’s own Blackened Recordings record label and debuted at No. 1 around the world, selling over 800,000 copies worldwide in its first week. The album was produced by Greg Fidelman with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.

Hola! London : the city’s biggest Latin American celebration at the O2 – July 22nd 2017

This summer London will welcome some of the leading names in Latin music, as stars hailing from Dominican Republic, Colombia and Spain take over The O2, for a celebratory day of music, dancing and street food. Grammy award winners Juan Luis Guerra and Juanes join forces to launch the very first Hola! London Festival on Saturday 22nd July 2017, along with David Bisbal and Sebastián Yatra.

Outside the arena, a Spanish and Latin American food fair will take up residence from midday and fans will have the opportunity to enjoy free music stages and activities.

London has a huge and growing Latin American community, and fans of Latin, tropical, salsa, urban and dance music can enjoy a full day of high energy vibrant performances for one incredible day and night – all under one roof.

With the increasing impact of Latin artists on the musical world and the desire for more Latin music experiences, The O2, in association with Como No, launch this new event that celebrates the river of Latin music that runs through the heart of London.

Tickets go on general sale on Wednesday 29th March.

John Legend brings ‘Darkness and Light’ tour to The O2 in September 2017

Acclaimed, multi-platinum selling, Oscar, Golden Globe, and 10 times Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter John Legend will return to The O2 on Tuesday 12 September 2017.

The ‘Darkness and Light’ tour will arrive in Europe for a 24-show tour of the continent, beginning in Glasgow, Scotland on September 8th before culminating in Lisbon, Portugal on October 14th.

The news of the tour comes as John announces ‘Surefire’ – the second single to be taken from the album ‘Darkness and Light,’ which was released to critical acclaim in December 2016. ‘Surefire’ will follow the album’s lead single ‘Love Me Now’, which has garnered over 157,000,000 Spotify streams worldwide, with the official video being viewed over 88,000,000 times on YouTube.

Since the release of ‘Darkness and Light,’ John Legend has co-executive produced and starred in the box office smash ‘La La Land,’ which has gone on to win seven Golden Globe Awards and six Academy Awards, and performed the title track to the recent remake of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ with Ariana Grande.

Tickets go on sale on Friday 31 March.

Paul Weller announces new show at The O2 in March 2018

Legendary artist Paul Weller today announced a UK tour, to follow the upcoming release of his 13th studio album “A Kind Revolution”. The tour stops at The O2 on Saturday 3 March 2018.

2017 marks the 40th anniversary of Paul Weller’s first album, “In The City”, which he released with The Jam in May 1977. For most artists such a landmark would be greeted with extensive retrospective celebrations. But Paul Weller is not like most artists, instead releasing a new studio album and announcing a UK arena tour for 2018.  In a career that spans from angry young rebel to respected musical elder statesman, Weller always has his finger on the musical pulse of the nation.

Tickets go on sale Monday 3 April.

Global superstar Ed Sheeran returns to the Royal Albert Hall to for a special concert in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Sheeran’s career has gone from strength to strength since the release of his debut album + (plus) in 2011, and has started 2017 by breaking records across the globe with his dual comeback singles Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill.

Ed last performed at the Hall three years ago, making his debut at the venue as part of Teenage Cancer Trust week, 2014.

2017 will be the 17th year of Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall, the shows are the charity’s flagship annual fundraiser raising millions to provide specialist care for young people with cancer.

Teenage Cancer Trust: The Who at the Royal Albert Hall – 30th March and 1st April 2017

The Who will premiere a special acoustic presentation of Tommy to mark the 100th Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall show.

This concert will be the first time the full band have performed Pete Townshend’s classic rock opera since 1989, and will be followed by a selection of other Who classics.

The charity’s longstanding Honorary Patron, frontman Roger Daltrey CBE, is a passionate champion of young people with cancer in the UK and has been a supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust for over 22 years. 2017 will be the 17th year that he has curated and been the driving force behind the shows at the Royal Albert Hall.

Teenage Cancer Trust: Paul Weller at the Royal Albert Hall –  31st March 2017

Paul Weller returns to the Hall for another show in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The hugely influential singer-songwriter, who rose to international icon status during his time in The Jam, has won four Brit Awards, including the 2006 Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

Weller released his 12th studio album, Saturns Pattern, last year, reaching number two on the UK Albums Chart.

Teenage Cancer Trust: Pet Shop Boys at the Royal Albert Hall – 2nd April 2017

Pet Shop Boys will return to the Royal Albert Hall for a special concert in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The three-time Brit Award winners have sold over 50 million records worldwide, scoring 22 Top 10 hits in the UK and will be joined for this Hall show by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and guitar hero Johnny Marr.

Keyboardist Chris Lowe and vocalist Neil Tennant’s danceable synth pop has led to a West End musical, an Olympic closing ceremony performance and an Ivor Novello Award. More acclaim followed the release of their 13th album Super in 2016.

Rod Stewart turns up a the O2 with his ‘From Gasoline Alley to Another Country Hits 2016’ arena tour. The legendary singer will be performing his biggest hits from 1970 to 2016. Rod Stewart popular live shows follow the release of  his 29th critically acclaimed album ‘Another Country’, which reached No.2 in the charts in 2015.
