In the bright sunshine, the crowds made their way to the London Classic Car Show at ExCel London. Although it is only in its fourth year, the show has become a firm favourite with motoring enthusiasts. This year, there are over 700 classic cars on display with a wide variety of features, cars and stars to keep visitors entertained.
Popular actor Philip Glenister curates a selection of the greatest Getaway Cars from real-life and film. The show pays tribute to those vehicles made famous in film or used in headline-grabbing real-life robberies and getaways.
One of the highlights of the show is the Grand Avenue, the large track in the middle of the show. This year, the focus is “Specials”. The cars with unique designs and unusual performance. The crowds enjoy the cars tuning up their engines as they make their way along the track.
The London Classic Car Show Icon Award this year goes to Nigel Mansell CBE and his remarkable motor racing career is celebrated at the show.
For those visitors who want to see and listen to some of their favourites from the Automobile world, they should make their way to the Supagard Theatre. The Supagard Theatre is hosted by motorsport broadcaster Henry Hope-Frost and will feature a programme of curated talks over the four days of the show. Guests include Vicki Butler-Henderson, Nigel Mansell, Philip Glenister and Quentin Willson.
Car Club Square offers a wide range of cars from the UK’s leading car clubs. Visitors are encouraged to take a close look at these beautifully cared for classics.
One of the joys of The London Classic Car Show is the wide variety of cars on display means there is something from Formula 1 cars, iconic classics to popular everyday run-arounds. The London Classic Car Show and its sister show Historic Motorsport International offers endless interest to the classic car owner, collector and enthusiast.
Admission to the London Classic Car Show incorporates free entry to Historic Motorsport International. Both shows run from 10am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
