Akram Khan Company : DESH at Sadler’s Wells – 31st May to 3rd June 2017

Akram Khan Company returns for the final ever performances of DESH, Khan performs his most personal and iconic solo piece at Sadler’s Wells from Wednesday 31 May – Saturday 3 June.

DESH, meaning “homeland” in Bengali, weaves together stories that span both Britain and Bangladesh to create a surreal world of myth and memory. This acclaimed very personal solo first premiered in 2011 and this is the fourth time Akram Khan performs the piece at Sadler’s Wells. The production is created with a highly talented team of collaborators, including Oscar-winning visual artist Tim Yip (production designer for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), award-winning lighting designer Michael Hulls, writer and poet Karthika Naïr, Olivier Award-winning composer Jocelyn Pook and slam poet PolarBear.
