Valery Gergiev and London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican – 12th March 2017

gregiev-2017

Janine Jansen continues her LSO Artist Portrait with Brahms, teaming up with conductor Valery Gergiev.

For violinists, Brahms’ Concerto is one of the peaks of all music written for the instrument, combining orchestral drama, lyricism and infectious folk-dance rhythms. Valery Gergiev follows it up with another iconic work, Richard Strauss’ tone poem Also sprach Zarathustra.

Janine Jansen has been performing Brahms’ Violin Concerto for over 20 years and recently released an acclaimed recording.
