2017 will mark fifty years on from Wembley Stadium’s first ever League Cup Final and the match has produced some wonderful goals, incredible drama and amazing upsets.
The EFL Cup Final is, traditionally, the first major cup final of the English football season. In 2017, we have a final between Southampton and Manchester Utd. A win over Hull City in the semi final cemented the Reds place in the final, whilst Southampton beat Liverpool. Southampton will hoping that they can recreate the heroics of the 1976 FA Cup final when the Saints beat the Reds 1-0.
The League Cup in its various guises has been played at Wembley since 1967 and has staged some epic finals. In recent years it has been dominated by some of the biggest clubs in England, this year is no different with two Premier League teams going toe to toe.
The tickets are allocated to the two clubs and do not go on general sale, Please note that NO general admission tickets will be sold via Wembley Stadium. The ONLY way to purchase general admission tickets will be via the two clubs who make the final. They will announce sales dates and method of purchase.
