Nelsons: Bruckner’s Symphony No.5 at the Royal Festival Hall – 19th January 2017

Andris Nelsons conducts Bruckner’s majestic Fifth Symphony.

Variously referred to as the ‘Tragic’, ‘Church of Faith’ or because of its opening string sound, the ‘Pizzicato’ Symphony, Bruckner drives each moment forward to a breath taking final movement propelled by increasingly intricate fugal melodies and stunning chorale.
