Top London Christmas Markets



It is always a sign that the festive season is near when Christmas markets begin to appear around London. They are great for browsing or finding a Christmas gift, most of London Christmas markets serve food and drink to really get into the Christmas spirit.

The Christmas markets are found all over the city but here is a list of the largest and best known ones.


Christmas Markets at Winter Wonderland – 18th November to 2nd January 2016

Winter Wonderland is full of rides and attractions, however it does provide everything for the Christmas shopper. Visitors are treated to  one of the biggest Christmas markets in London returns in the scenic  setting of Hyde Park. There are more than 200 wooden cabins in the traditional German Christmas Market and Angels and Fairies Market.  


Winter Festival at Southbank Centre – 11th November to 25th January 2016

The South Bank’s riverside is transformed into a wintry wonderland with traditional wooden chalets and seasonal treats to enjoy. If you need to warm up head for the Rekorderlig Winter Lodge.


Tate Modern Christmas Market    19th November to 23th December 2016

You can wander further along the south side of the river to shop for Christmas gifts at the Tate Modern Christmas Market, returning for the third year in a row. Enjoy a look around the New Tate Modern building before wandering around the market.  A number of wooden chalets and the smell of mulled wine and bratwurst may tempt you. For children, there is the added bonus of child’s fair.

Christmas By The River at London Bridge City – 30th  November to 3th January 2016

Moving even further along to near Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, Christmas By The River Christmas market. More than 40 wooden huts are packed with festive goods with a pop-up bar providing glühwein.


Covent Market Market at Christmas –  15th November to 8th January 2016

The famous Covent Garden Market turn all festive with Christmas lights and Christmas tree, the area is decked out with plenty of other magical Christmas lights and decorations which include an enormous reindeer.
