Diwali Festival at Trafalgar Square – 16th October 2016

Light up your weekend at the Diwali Festival that takes place on Sunday 16 October at Trafalgar Square from 1-7pm.

The square will celebrate the colour, music and dance of India. Celebrated by people of all nationalities, races and religions, Diwali, the festival of lights creates a magical world of joy and festivity. It celebrates the triumphant victory of good over evil – and the glory of light over darkness. The word Diwali or Deepavali (in its full form), means ‘a row of lamps’.

Visitors can explore Indian crafts and gifts, try their hand at making a Diwali lamp, learn how to tie a sari and experience the many spices and flavours at the Indian street food market.

There’ll also be a star filled stage line up and mischievous blue monkeys scampering around the square – plus much more!

Admission is Free
