IKEA To Open DIY Pop-Up Restaurant ‘The Dining Club’ in Shoreditch – 10th to 25th September 2016

IKEA TO OPEN DIY POP-UP RESTAURANT ‘THE DINING CLUB’

Swedish retailer IKEA is taking the ‘Dine with Me’ concept a little further when they open a ‘Do-it-Yourself Restaurant’ in Shoreditch between the 10th and 25th September. It will offer the novel concept of diners running the diner with the opportunity to become star chefs in your very own restaurant.

With research suggesting that people  are spending less time cooking and eating together in the UK, IKEA are giving the foodies, wannabe-cooks, kitchen-novices and fine-diners the chance to express themselves and impress their friends in a restaurant that allows everyone to invite up to 19 of their friends to make a meal and occasion to remember.

The temporary restaurant entitled named The Dining Club will its doors in September in Shoreditch, which is one of the latest of London’s foodie culture hubs. Attendees will be under the expert supervision of a head chef in a homely kitchen environment for a dinner party for 7 to 19 guests.

The cleaning up will be taken care of too, allowing hosts to spend plenty of quality time with their friends.

Patrons can also book a spot in the ‘Food for Thought’ workshop area where interactive master classes are hosted by an array of guests including Instagram star Pixie Turner and Great British Bake Off winner Edd Kimber covering topics such as 1 ingredient 4 ways, Swedish Baking, Fermentation, Clean Eating, The Future of Food, Sustainable Eating, Food Styling Tips and more.

For those without a booking for The Dining Club, there will be an opportunity to visit the space, including an IKEA unique shop with homewares for sale to those wishing to drop-in and purchase their favourite IKEA kitchen products. Also on display will also be kitchen showrooms reflecting kitchens of various sizes and styles. Upon visiting, the general public will  leave The Dining Club with an IKEA treat.
