The new Premier League season has started with a number of questions about London’s top teams, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is under pressure already after losing to Liverpool and drawing against Leicester City. Arsenal fans will be hoping that the manager goes into the transfer market to shore up a shaky defence. Tough matches against Southampton and Chelsea will add to Arsenal’s pressure in September.
Two wins have given new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte a 100% start in the Premier League, however both victories have been unconvincing and the blues fans will be looking for the team to go on a winning run. Upcoming games against Arsenal and Liverpool will provide evidence to confirm the Blues as serious challengers for the title.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is critical of the heavy schedule of matches after Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris injured his hamstring against Everton. Four points from two matches is a good start to the season but Spurs are well below the standards set last year. A quiet September will allow some of the Spurs players to recover and find their form.
Michail Antonio scored five minutes from time to give West Ham victory over Bournemouth in the first Premier League match at their new stadium. After a narrow defeat at Chelsea, the Hammers look set for another good season. Two home games in September will enable the Hammers to adjust to their new stadium and consolidate their standings.
New Watford manager Walter Mazzarri is happy with the effort of his team after a creditable draw at Southampton and a narrow defeat to Chelsea. Tough games against West Ham and Man United will test the Hornet’s resolve to get off to a good start this season.
Crystal Palace have yet to win this season after losing 1-0 to both West Brom and Tottenham, they will be looking for new record signing Christian Benteke to justify his £27m price tag.
