Wembley Stadium will host its first ever International Champions Cup fixture when Liverpool FC meet Barcelona on Saturday 6 August 2016.
Ten teams from around the globe, including England (Liverpool FC, Chelsea F.C. Leicester City), Italy (AC Milan, Inter Milan), France (Paris Saint-Germain F.C.), Spain (Barcelona, Real Madrid), Germany (Bayern Munich) and Scotland (Celtic F.C.) will compete in the 2016 International Champions Cup which will run from 23 July until 13 August.
Each team will play three matches and the club with the most points at the end of the tournament will be crowned champion. Each win after 90-minutes will result in three points and a draw will go straight to a penalty shootout; the winning team in a penalty shootout will receive two points and the losing team will receive one.
Liverpool FC and Barcelona are no strangers to Wembley Stadium with The Reds contesting last season’s Capital One Cup Final while Barcelona beat Manchester United on the pitch in the 2011 Champions League Final.
Please note that tickets for this match have sold out.
