Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Crystal Pite and actor-playwright Jonathon Young join forces to examine, with unflinching honesty, what happens to an individual in the wake of life-changing events. Touching on themes of loss, trauma, addiction and recovery, Betroffenheit is a rare boundary-stretching hybrid of theatre and dance – told through comedy and drama, poetry and movement.
Following her Olivier Award-winning season of shows at Sadler’s Wells (Tempest Replica, A Picture of You Falling and Polaris), this new creation from Pite is another example from one of the most talented choregraphers working today.
This piece is co-created by Kidd Pivot and Electric Company Theatre
