Due to public demand, Kate Prince’s smash hit, award-winning hip hop dance comedy Into the Hoods: Remixed returns to The Peacock in 2016. The much-loved show returns to the stage with all the wit and charm of the original, now updated with brand new choreography, a remixed soundtrack and fresh designs.
Set in the ‘Ruff Endz Estate’, two lost children are tasked in finding an iPhone as white as milk, trainers as pure as gold, a hoodie as red as blood and weave as yellow as corn. They meet DJ Spinderella, wannabe singer Lil Red, vivacious rapper Rap On Zel, and budding music producer Jaxx as they embark upon an adventure into the heart of a pulsating community.
The action comes thick and fast with high energy dancing, comedy and music which features the likes of James Brown, Queen Latifah, Jay Z, Jennifer Hudson, Kool + The Gang, Salt n Pepa, Chemical Brothers, MC Hammer with some original music from Danilo ‘DJ’ Walde.
This show is directed and written by Kate Prince who manages to bring together a wide range of very talented individuals to create a special show that will delight audiences of all ages. The interplay between the visual, dance and music takes the show onto another level and the imaginative set pieces which balance pathos and comedy create a show which is truly original.
