CircusFest 2016 at the Roundhouse – 4th to 24th April 2016



CircusFest 2016 returns with three weeks of spectacular international and UK contemporary circus.The festival features major world premieres, new productions and street performances from the hottest names in circus.

Filling the Main Space is the award-winning Finnish Race Horse Company who bring the UK premiere of Super Sunday and Britain’s hottest circus company Barely Methodical Troupe fly into the Roundhouse with Kin, the world premiere of their brand new production.

The award-winning Finnish ensemble, the Race Horse Company will offer a new production packed with acrobatic skill and their trademark black humour. Super Sunday features the wheel of death, a human catapult, trampolining and the teeterboard.

Following the critical acclaim of Petit Mal that thrilled audiences all over the world, the company return to the UK to delight London audiences with non-stop, high energy circus fun.


Other highlights include Ockham’s Razor who bring a new full length production Tipping Point. Set in the round, the audience drawn in close, as five performers transform simple metal poles into a rich landscape of images. Poles are balanced on fingertips, hung from the roof, lashed, climbed, swung from and walked along, they become forests, cross roads and pendulums. The performers balance, climb and cling, supporting each other as they wrestle with the moment when things begin to shift.


Barely Methodical Troupe known for their award winning debut show Bromance, bring a brand new production and world premiere which combines acrobatic skills with contemporary dance, parkour, b-boying and tricking. The company use falling and catching, trust and balance, tumbling and flying as ways of exploring the human condition.
