Review : Where’s Wally? at The View from The Shard – 19th March to 10th April 2016

The View from The Shard has created a highly original Easter attraction with their collaboration with the creators of Where’s Wally ?  Visitors to the attraction can take part in the search for Wally and friends during the Easter school holidays from the 19th March to 10th April 2016.

Where’s Wally? is a series of children’s books created by the English illustrator Martin Handford, the books feature the globetrotting Wally and other characters who readers are challenged to find amongst the illustrations. The Where’s Wally? Series has sold over 59 million books worldwide and has been translated into more than 30 languages.

Visitors to the top of Western Europe’s tallest building will be challenged to spot Wally and friends amongst the London skyline. Intrepid explorers Wally, Wenda, Woof, Wizard Whitebeard and Oldlaw are reproduced in large-scale formats, appearing in various locations on the city’s rooftops.

On a clear sunny day, with a ‘Where’s Wally?’ activity sheet in hand we took up the challenge. The characters distinctive outfits should make them stand out in the city, however like the books it is not that easy to spot them. Wally is probably the easiest to spot amongst the characters, with Woof the most difficult.

Visitors do not need to bring binoculars, you can use the ‘Tell:scopes’ – ultra high-tech digital telescopes which allow you to explore the city in real-time.

The View from the Shard will be offering a series of ‘Where’s Wally? illustrations within the Shard itself to keep visitors searching for the items related to the famous traveller.

The View from the Shard is one of the most spectacular views in London and when you have found the characters, it is equally exciting to point out the major landmarks.

Families visiting during period 19 March – 10 April will be able to purchase a combined ‘Family Ticket’ valid for (2 Adults + 2 Children, or 1 Adult + 3 Children), priced £79.95 – saving over 15%. All tickets during the period come with a ‘Where’s Wally?’ activity sheet which can be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a family adventure.
