Evgeny Kissin at the Barbican – 10th March 2016

kissin

As a virtuoso, Evgeny Kissin is as spectacular today as he was when he made his teenage debut back in the 1980s. From the timeless grace of Mozart to Brahms, this recital is a portrait of a mature artist at the height of his powers.

Expect reflection as well as grandeur in Beethoven’s Apassionata sonata. Four decades’ worth of insight will illuminate Albeniz and Asturias from within. And Brahms’s Intermezzi Op117 will form the deep, quiet heart of this thoughtfully-curated recital from one of the world’s most accomplished living pianists.

Beethoven Sonata No. 23 in F minor, Appassionata
