An evening of music featuring Nicolai, Korngold and Elgar’s grand First Symphony.

Elgar’s First Symphony received its premiere in 1908 and was full of hope and optimism for the future. It remains a courageous and uplifting orchestral creation. Hyeyoon Park is the soloist for Korngold’s swashbuckling Violin Concerto.

Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor opens the programme for Osmo Vänskä and the London Philharmonic Orchestra
