The Capital One Cup Final is, traditionally, the first major cup final of the English football season. In 2016 , we have a final between Liverpool and Manchester City. A win on penalties over Stoke City in the semi final cemented the Reds place in the final, whilst Man City squashed any hopes of an all Merseyside final by beating Everton.
The League Cup in its various guises has been played at Wembley since 1967 and has staged some epic finals. In recent years it has been dominated by some of the biggest clubs in England, this year is no different with two Premier League heavyweights going toe to toe.
Chelsea were the most recent victors raising the Capital One Cup at Wembley in 2015, the fifth time The Blues have held the trophy.
However, the most successful club in competition’s history are Liverpool with eight wins, will they add to that tally in the 2016 final ?
The tickets are allocated to the two clubs and do not go on general sale, Please note that NO general admission tickets will be sold via Wembley Stadium. The ONLY way to purchase general admission tickets will be via the two clubs who make the final. They will announce sales dates and method of purchase.
