If you love LEGO, there is only one place to be in London this weekend, the ExCel Exhibition Centre will be the location of millions of pieces of LEGO when BRICK 2015 opens between the 11th to 13th of December.
Brick 2015 is the UK’s biggest LEGO show and gets into the festive spirit with a Merry Brickmas area, with Christmas themed displays, winter white brick pits and plenty of ideas for LEGO Christmas gifts for all ages.
The exhibition has a small Museum of LEGO history, The LEGO company is over 60 years old and some of the first sets are on display in the Museum, surprisingly the early sets are made of wood not plastic and included train sets. From those humble beginnings has grown a global brand that has conquered the world.
A walk around Brick 2015 provides some of the reasons for LEGO’s success, the bricks have a remarkable versatility that allows people to build basic models or some of the amazing models on show at the event.
One of the highlights of the show is the model of Hogwarts with Harry Potter standing in front, however you also have the history of transport in LEGO form with over 120 LEGO ships, planes and vehicles.
The Wonders of the World in LEGO include the Pyramids and many other buildings, At the centre of the show is the Fan Zone which features some great displays by some of the World’s best LEGO builders, there is opportunity to see these creations up close and meet the people who build them!
Looking at the amazing displays is only one part of the show, for the second year running, Guinness World Records is partnering with BRICK and will be attending this year’s events in London. At Brick 2015, there will be several individual challenges ready for you to take part in and perhaps break a world record.
Other interactive activities include
Brick Pits – LEGO fans of all ages can get creative in pits with millions of LEGO bricks.
LEGO video games – Play all your favourite LEGO video games including the very latest releases.
Build a house and put it on the map of the UK
Build a snowman or part of a mosaic.
Walk down Brick Lane for minifigures and collectables.
BRICK 2015 is also a place to buy LEGO with a partnership with Toys’R’Us to open a large LEGO pop up store.
This show provides lots of LEGO related entertainment for all age groups and is an ideal pre-Christmas treat for children, there is plenty of opportunities to look at the large number of displays or relax and build your own models.
