London New Year’s Eve Firework Display – 31st December 2015

nye2015

The London New Year’s Eve Firework Display is one of the iconic events in London of the year. It is without doubt, London’s most spectacular New Year’s Eve event, and one of the greatest celebrations of its kind in the world. At the stroke of midnight , Big Ben chimes and London’s night skies light up with a display of stunning pyrotechnics.

In recent years the event has been a victim of its own success with large crowds creating a number of issues. Last year it was decided to have specific areas that would be ticketed. This was considered a great success and the money raised was given to charity. This year the event has a partnership with Unicef, the world’s leading children’s organisation.

Most the tickets have been sold but there will be limited number available made available after December 3rd.

Ticket type

Tickets are £10 and you can book up to four per person. Please note, different viewing area tickets are available – a Blue area, Red area, White area and Green area. If you are coming to the event with friends, make sure you book the same viewing area as you cannot move between them.  The event has now introduced a new viewing area for this year’s event – the Pink area.

There will be no pedestrian access across the river before or after the event, so please consider carefully which viewing area will be most convenient to travel to and from when buying your ticket.

PINK AREA tickets provide access to Waterloo Bridge, which can only be reached via the south side of the river Thames.

BLUE AREA tickets cover the stretch of the Embankment from Westminster Bridge to Embankment Underground station, which can only be accessed from the north side of the river Thames (the side opposite to the Coca-Cola London Eye).

RED AREA tickets cover the stretch of the Embankment from Embankment Underground station to Temple Underground Station, which can only be accessed from the north side of the river Thames (the side opposite to the Coca-Cola London Eye).

WHITE AREA tickets provide access to Westminster Bridge, which can only be reached via the south side of the river Thames.

GREEN AREA tickets cover the area behind the Coca-Cola London Eye, which can only be reached via the south side of the river Thames.

Important note: You will be allocated an entrance point into your chosen viewing area. This will be printed on your ticket.

Whether you’re attending the fireworks display or celebrating at another event, remember that London will be very busy on New Year’s Eve. Public transport will operate differently to normal with planned engineering works and station closures, and travelling on foot will be more difficult due to large crowds and diversion routes. Many central London Bridges will start to close from 2pm on New Year’s Eve (with all closed by 4pm).

There will also be a number of road closures in central London on 31 December. Transport for London will be providing free travel all night on all its public transport services, from 11:45pm on New Year’s Eve until 4:30am on New Year’s Day. Free travel does not apply on most National Rail services.
