Legendary conductor Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, renowned for his interpretations of Bruckner, conducts the composer’s Fifth Symphony.

Anton Bruckner was troubled by problems both professional and personal as he started work on his Fifth Symphony in February 1875. He had little money, minimal recognition and his career was in crisis following the abolition of his post at the Vienna Conservatoire.

The Symphony emerged and became one of Bruckner’s most well known works although  tragically, it was a symphony he never heard performed.

Programme

There will be no interval in this performance which will end at approx. 8.55pm
